Private Elementary School/English Immersion Program 2013-2014 School Year

Uchon Elementary is a private elementary school with an English Immersion program located in Seongbuk-Gu, close to Line 4, Hansung University and Sungshin Women’s University subway station. We are seeking experienced teachers who are presently working and living in Seoul, Korea, for more than three years and presently have their own living accommodations, or desire so in the future.
Uchon is not a Hogwan. It is an accredited private Korean elementary school by the Seoul Ministry of Education, grades 1st to 6th. Uchon was founded in 1965 as a Mission school and in 2006 received a special charter from the Ministry of Education to become one of only a handful of English immersion education schools in Korea. The Immersion Program began in the 1st grade in 2006 and has grown to the 6th Grade in 2011.
Native English teachers are co-homeroom teachers with their Korean partner teacher. Each homeroom class has 24-28 students. The HR class is divided into an A and B group with 12-14 students in each group. A sliding wall divides the homeroom when A group is receiving Korean curriculum, while the B group is with the Native teacher receiving their English curriculum. Later, teachers exchange groups. Currently, we have 23 Native teachers at our school.
