Jungwon University, located in the beautiful, idyllic town of Goesan, South Korea, seeks Native English Speakers for Full-Time Instructor Positions. Please read the entire posting to determine eligibility and application process.

1. Contract Period
One year beginning March 1, 2015 until February 29, 2016. Annual renewal based upon evaluation.
2. Duties
• Teaching college-level English speaking and grammar courses (all courses cover the four skills).
• Basic teaching load: 15 hours per week (Monday through Friday)
• Office Hours and active participation in planning/directing extracurricular activities is expected.
• Additional duties may include, but are not limited to supplementary teaching hours, tutoring, editing of academic papers, as well as other tasks that may be assigned to meet the needs of the English program.
3. Minimum Qualifications (Must meet these qualifications)
• All applicants must be citizens and hold a passport from a native English speaking country (Canada | U.S.A | U.K. | Ireland | Australia | New Zealand | South Africa).
• A Master’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of college-level teaching experience, OR
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 4 years of college-level teaching experience.
4. Preferred Qualifications
• Holders of graduate degrees in relevant fields and/or TESOL/TEFL/TESL/ESL certificates will be given preference.
• Candidates with some experience in teaching OPIC or the speaking sections of TOEIC/TOEFL will be given preference.
5. Salary and Benefits
• Starting Salary: 30 million to 32 million won annual salary – commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Paid Vacation: 7 consecutive weeks, annually, to be taken during either the winter OR summer Inter-Semester breaks and assigned based upon the staffing needs of the University.
• Overtime payment for Inter-Semester classes and special English programs during school breaks of winter and summer (not personal vacation) – rate of approximately 15,000 won per hour.
• Relocation allowance of up to one (1) million won for successfully contracted instructors who travel from overseas (first year contract only).

Non-Tenure Track EFL Professor for the 2015 Spring Semester at Soongsil University, Seoul, Korea

1. Position
Baird University College at Soongsil University invites applicants for a non-tenure track, full-time professor position for its Freshmen English Program: a compulsory credit-bearing course which includes General English (i.e., four language skills), Advanced English (e.g., critical thinking, presentation skill..etc.)and other communicative skills, beginning on March 1, 2015.
2. Qualifications
1) Foreign native speaker of English
2) Master’s degree or above
- TEFL/TESL/TESOL/CELTA certification is required for an applicant whose major field of study is not Applied Linguistics, English Literature or TESOL/TEFL.

4. Important Notes
1) Document authenticity: All documents submitted at time of application must be scans of the originals.
2) Interview: Candidates must be available for a teaching demonstration and a face-to-face interview on between December 29 and December 31, 2014 at Soongsil University in Seoul.
3) Contract period: The initial contract is for one year – March 1, 2015 to Feb 29, 2016.

- Subsequent contracts are of two-year duration.
4) Working hours: Instructors are required to teach up to 15 hours per week (M-F) in our English Program.

6) Other responsibilities: Each instructor is required to spend up to one hour per week doing committee work

7) Salary and Benefits
A. Starting annual salary ranges from 27~28 million won depending on educational and professional experience.
B. Overtime payment: Instructors who serve in a teaching capacity in addition to their regular 15-hour requirement will be paid KRW 32,000/hour rate set by Soongsil University for full-time professors.
C. Housing: One room studio apartment in the Soongsil University dormitory or a housing allowance of
450,000 won per month.
