Gangnam-gu, Korea - At Chase Academy we believe in the importance of stories and that’s why talking about and writing about stories is at the core of our curriculum

Mission
At Chase Academy we believe in the importance of stories and that’s why talking about and writing about stories is at the core of our curriculum. A good story stimulates the imagination, arouses curiosity, and sets the stage for the authentic construction of knowledge. Through stories we encourage students to have something to say, and to articulate this clearly in spoken and written English so that they can share ideas in a thoughtful and productive collaboration.
Who we are
At Chase Academy in Seoul, all of our students, from elementary to high school, learn English through reading novels. Since its founding in 2007, Chase has worked to change the culture of Korean education from a focus on test prep to an appreciation for reading and the value of learning for learning’s sake. Chase strives to find out how Children think and what we can do to help. We are looking for creative, enthusiastic and motivated teachers to teach our elementary and low elementary level classes.
Who we’re looking for
If you’re smart (we’re sure you are), love reading and want to share your passion for literature in a progressive education company in Asia then we’d like to meet you. The teacher that we’re looking for will be independent, imaginative and willing to devote at least one year to working with us. The successful candidate will appreciate the crucial importance of literature in a child’s education, will be a humanities major and will be willing to learn.
Benefits
Teachers in this area will read and explore childrens’ books with our youngest students. You will get the chance to work in a small, tight-knit community of educators where you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of fun, eager and motivated students. All new teachers will receive training and mentorship to make sure that they are adequately prepared for the classroom. New teachers will be provided with housing in Seoul and a competitive salary. There is also a great deal of room for advancement and creative work. We also have good snacks.
