Full-Time Native English Instructor Jungwon University – Goesan, South Korea

Jungwon University, located in the beautiful, idyllic town of Goesan, South Korea, seeks Native English Speakers for Full-Time Instructor Positions. Please read the entire posting to determine eligibility and application process.

1. Contract Period
One year beginning March 1, 2015 until February 29, 2016. Annual renewal based upon evaluation.
2. Duties
• Teaching college-level English speaking and grammar courses (all courses cover the four skills).
• Basic teaching load: 15 hours per week (Monday through Friday)
• Office Hours and active participation in planning/directing extracurricular activities is expected.
• Additional duties may include, but are not limited to supplementary teaching hours, tutoring, editing of academic papers, as well as other tasks that may be assigned to meet the needs of the English program.
3. Minimum Qualifications (Must meet these qualifications)
• All applicants must be citizens and hold a passport from a native English speaking country (Canada | U.S.A | U.K. | Ireland | Australia | New Zealand | South Africa).
• A Master’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of college-level teaching experience, OR
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 4 years of college-level teaching experience.
4. Preferred Qualifications
• Holders of graduate degrees in relevant fields and/or TESOL/TEFL/TESL/ESL certificates will be given preference.
• Candidates with some experience in teaching OPIC or the speaking sections of TOEIC/TOEFL will be given preference.
5. Salary and Benefits
• Starting Salary: 30 million to 32 million won annual salary – commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Access to national health insurance and private school teachers’ pension plan.
• On-campus faculty housing with basic furnishing.
• Paid Vacation: 7 consecutive weeks, annually, to be taken during either the winter OR summer Inter-Semester breaks and assigned based upon the staffing needs of the University.
• Overtime payment for Inter-Semester classes and special English programs during school breaks of winter and summer (not personal vacation) – rate of approximately 15,000 won per hour.
• Relocation allowance of up to one (1) million won for successfully contracted instructors who travel from overseas (first year contract only).
6. Required Documents

• Current curriculum vitae with recent photo
• Copies of degree(s) and certificate(s) with current apostille and/or notarization (necessary for visa application and verification of credentials)
• Transcripts (both undergraduate and graduate for all degrees held)
• A copy of the photo page of your current passport (Canada | U.S.A | U.K. | Ireland | Australia | New Zealand | South Africa)
• A copy of your current Criminal Record Check (within 6 months) with current apostille and/or notarization, if you will be applying for a visa
• A copy of your current Alien Registration Card issued by the Korean government (if currently residing in Korea)
• Letter(s) of recommendation (if available)
