We are seeking a Director of Studies who can lead our modern young learner English language school on to great things in the beautiful city of Makassar, Indonesia.
The Job
Essential qualities for this challenging position include strong people management skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team of international teachers. A proven track record in teacher training through workshops, class observations and one-on-one support are vital to this role.

The right candidate will be organized and logic in planning and implementation of new school initiatives. Excellent creativity and problem solving skills are also needed.
You will have a degree in an English related subject (Education, TEFL, Linguistics or Literature) and credible TEFL qualification as well as a wide range of teaching experience, especially to young learners and teenage students. You will be well versed in TEFL methodology and teaching techniques.

The Students
The main age group range from 7 to 14 years old, although classes are also offered to younger students and older teenagers as well, ensuring teachers teach a wide variety of ages and abilities. This age group requires a lot of energy and passion as well as the ability to create excitement and fun in the classroom.

Teaching Methods
Teachers are encouraged to use their creativity to really bring the lesson alive and make the most of a variety of activities such as role plays, group work, competitions, drama and stories. The class sizes are kept small, to an average of 6-12 students, which allows for noticeable progress to be made and also makes classroom management that much easier.

Makassar is the provincial capital of South Sulawesi, Indonesia and the largest city in Sulawesi island. Makassar has become the primary port and airline hub of the eastern archipelago, the thousands of remote islands being developed and incorporated into the mainstream of Indonesian society and economy.
Makassar also played a key role in Indonesian history. The 16th-century Gowa Empire was based here until the Dutch weighed in. Main Responsibilities
-Maximum 40 hours per week, 6 days per week
-Teacher training and development
-Teacher management
-Teaching high quality lessons
-Scheduling and timetabling
-Administrative reports
-School development and operation
-Attending professional development seminars and DoS training sessions
Compensation
-Excellent salary: 14,000,000 Rupiah per month net (roughly 1,400 USD)
-Flight reimbursement provided (50% after 6 months, 50% after 12 months)
-Contract completion bonus: 14 million Rupiah (roughly 1,400 USD)
-Performance based bonuses
-Accommodation provided free for first 30 days and help finding an apartment
-12 days paid vacation per year plus 1 week for Labaron, 1 week for Christmas and other public holidays
-Legal work visa and permits provided and paid for by the school

Requirements
-Native English speaker from USA, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
-Bachelor’s degree in an English related subject (Education, TEFL, Linguistics, or Literature)
-TEFL certificate
-At least 3 years of teaching experience and 1 year of management experience
