Catholic University of Daegu(CU), located near Daegu in Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongbuk, South Korea seeks qualified candidates for full-time faculty positions beginning in 2014 Spring semester.
CU was established in 1914. Actually it has circa 15,000 students and 16 colleges and 86 majors including the School of Medicine and Pharmacy in addition to Graduate Schools. It has international relationships with 129 international universities in 26 nations.

3. General Qualifications
1) Applicants must be a foreign citizen and have a Master's degree or higher one.
2) Applicants must have at least two years of teaching or research experience in a University or College after obtaining a Master's degree.
3) Applicants must be legally eligible to work at a private University in Korea.
4) Applicants must teach major courses in English or foreign languages.
5) Applicants for Foreign Language Education Center must teach practical English.
4. Contract Conditions
1) Position: Full-time Faculty
(Professors, Associate Professors or Assistant Professors)
2) Contract Term: One year (renewable)
- Possible promotion and/or contract renewal before the end of the contract
3) Salary: Commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience
a) Master's degree: 29,400,000 won ~ per year
b) Doctor's degree: 30,000,000 won ~ per year
a. The international faculty members in Foreign Language Education Center are paid according to their teaching experience and research career.
b. Taxation: Monthly salary is paid after deducting all applicable taxes according to Korea Tax Law.
4) Teaching Hours
a) 12 hours per week/16 weeks per semester
b) during vacation - upon request(for 16 days)
c) based on actual teaching hours
5) Vacation: More than 4 months per year (Summer/Winter, paid)
5. Benefits
1) Housing is provided by the university.
- Professors are responsible for paying minimal monthly rent and regular utility bills.
2) Office on campus is provided.
3) A contributory Employee Health Insurance Plan and Teachers Pension will be applied and the University will cover the employer fees.
4) If the employee returns to his/her permanent residence after completing the employment contract with Catholic University of Daegu longer than 2 years, airfare for one way is provided.
