Dongguk University at Gyeongju is currently inviting full-time Faculty to apply for the following non-tenure track positions starting on March 1, 2014.
※ Dongguk is a Buddhist University located in Gyeongju, the famed capital of the acient Silla. The city has a population of 300 thousand. Gyeongju is renowned for its cultural and historic heritage, as well as for its abundant outdoor recreation activities. It is conveniently located within an hour Daegu, Busan, Ulsan, and Pohang, and it is also a 35-minute drive from the East Sea.

2. Qualifications
a) Applicants must be eligible for appointment according to private university regulations and
satisfy the requirements for employment at Dongguk University.
b) Applicants must be able to deliver lectures in English.
c) Applicants must hold the minimum specified degree or higher in the designated field of
specialization.
• Master's degree holders should also have over two years teaching or research
experience in 4-year colleges, universities, government agencies, or research institutes.
• Doctoral degree holders should have their degree in the field(s) specified above.

7. Employment Conditions and Benefits
a) The initial contract will be one year or two years starting on March 1, 2014. The position
is non-tenure track and renewable If the candidate satisfies conditions for contract renewal
before the end of the initial contract.
b) Approximate salary level
Career Years : Master's degree + teaching/research experience : Monthly Salary 2.65 million won($2,497.6)
Doctoral degree + teaching/research experience : Monthly Salary 2.8 million won($2,639.0)

※ Taxes are deducted based on Korean Tax Law.
※ The salary varies depending on education and teaching/research experience.
c) Housing stipend : Off-campus housing for Faculty (If all the rooms are occupied, 258,300won
will be paid for monthly housing rent)
d) 12 hours/week, minimum of 4 days/week
e) Office space with a personal computer is provided.
f) Overtime rate is 22,000 won/hour for credit courses and 33,000 won/hour for night
classes in accordance with the payment system employed by the university.
g) Health insurance plan(Based on National Health)
h) The severance pay will be paid by the Private University Pension Law.8. Further Remarks
