Soojung Global Vision School (SGVS) needs teachers for kindergarteners (3 classes a week) and elementary classroom settings. SGVS is staffed by caring Christians who will treat you like family. We have a strong professional ethic and high expectations of our students and staff. We balance this in a warm and compassionate work environment where each teacher is respected and supported as an educator.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be a teaching missionary and experience different cultures for those who are mission-minded. This is a good opportunity to meet and work with the Korean church and Korean Christians at the church and school in Korea.
Working Conditions at SICS:
Working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday ~ Friday
Small student to teacher ratio
There are 2 English Camps a year (1during winter break and 1 during summer break)
Subjects to teach: English Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Conversation, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Bible.
Use of American Christian School Curriculum (published by Bob Jones University Press)
Use of technologically up-to-date multimedia tools in the classroom
Contract length: 1 year
Teacher Remuneration & Benefits:
- Montly Starting Salary: 2.3 million won, negotiable depending on major, credential, or experiences.
- Rent-Free furnished apartment provided within walking distance of school.
- National Health Insurance and National Pension Plan premiums
- 4 weeks of paid vacation, not including national holidays of Korea
Qualifications:
* 4-year Bachelor’s Degree
* A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
* A personal commitment to spiritual growth
* Enthusiasm, cooperation, initiative, and ethics
* A degree in Elementary Education or General Education is preferred, but not required
* Teaching experience in one or more of the following subjects at the elementary or secondary school level is preferred,
but not required: Social Studies, English, Mathematics, or Science
