What Gloria Offers:
1. NT$640 per hour (starting rate with attendance bonus) ¡V approx. $21.00 US or $22.00 CAD OR NT$ 600 (starting rate without attendance bonus) - approx. $20.00 US or $21.0250 CAD
2. Job security through guaranteed hours (a minimum average of 20 hours per week)
3. One-year bonus of NT$25,000 (approx. $ 835 USD or $848 CAD)
4. Free housing for 15 months (single rooms with shared living room, kitchen, and bathrooms)

Requirements:
(1) University degree OR 2-year college diploma and TESOL/TEFL certificate
(2) US or Canadian citizen
(3) Native English Speaker
(4) Ability to complete a one-year contract

Gloria English is one of those backward thinking schools obsessed with putting a young American in front of a group of Taiwanese, give him/her a handful of inferior teaching materials and hope he/she is funny enough for the language learners. At a push they will employ native English speakers that are already in Taiwan and are ridiculous enough to tell these real English language speakers to "talk like an American".
2. Honoring that which they promise via teaching contracts......no not at all. When they hold your work visa they control your life.
3. University degree OR two year diploma....this sums up their commitment to real professional teaching. End of year bonus/ Actually they prefer a fast turn over of "Young clown teachers" from the USA to amuse their clients so don't plan on getting a bonus or re-signing fee.
School management? Appalling. Teaching materials? Appalling and substandard. Working environment? Appalling. Housing? Go live in a messy cheap sub standard apartment with the other foreign teachers.
