Non-tenured faculty position in the Dept. of English, Wonkwang University, Iksan, Korea

The department of English at Wonkwang University in Iksan, South Korea is looking for a qualified non-tenure track assistant professor, beginning March 1, 2014. The university campus is large and beautifully landscaped, serving over 20,000 undergraduate students and filled with trees and flowers in spring. Iksan is located in Jeollabuk-do Province, about three hours south of Seoul. Jeollabuk-do is known for having the best Korean cuisine in the country, though international food is available in restaurants and grocery stores. If you're looking for things to do in your off hours, the Iksan Foreigners Association is an active expat community (see on Facebook) who enjoy quiz nights and live punk performances at the neighborhood pub, reading groups, playing soccer, feasting, and going on trips.
Description:
One-year contract (renewable depending on evaluation), paid vacation--16 weeks a year, teaching English Conversation and Writing
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in English Literature/ Linguistics/ Education, or related field
Native fluency in written and spoken English
At least two years of college-level teaching experience
Responsibilities:
Full-time on duty except for summer and winter breaks
A minimum of 9 credit hours per week and office hours during regular semesters
Occasional non-credit classes (with additional compensation)
Participation in major department activities (entrance ceremonies and graduation, etc.)
Salary: W 2,500,000/ month (before tax). Overtime work will be additionally paid.
Fringe benefits: Health insurance, Korea Teachers' Pension Fund (KTPF) enrollment, severance pay (equivalent to one month's salary), on-campus housing available, private office.
