The Department of English Education in the College of Education at Keimyung University invites applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position for the spring semester of 2013 (beginning on March 1st, 2012).
Keimyung University is a well-established third-level institution in Daegu, South Korea. The university was founded in 1954 by Presbyterian missionaries to provide Christian higher education. Keimyung has in excess of 26,000 students and more than100 international faculty members from all over the world.
The department of English Education was established as part of the College of Education in 2008 in response to the growing need to cultivate secondary school English teachers who can effectively teach English through English (TETE). Based on many years of experience in the teaching field and in teacher training programs, the faculty in the department work toward developing highly skilled educators who are creative and innovative, and who can instill in students a sense of ethicality and effectively prepare students for leadership in a highly competitive globalized society.

Required Qualifications
Candidates should have either a doctoral or master's degree in TESOL (English Education), Applied Linguistics, preferably with experience teaching English to Asian students. Candidates with a master's degree should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience after the degree is conferred. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and research; an ability to collaborate with the faculty and staff members; and a commitment to supervising and advising students.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have primary responsibilities including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (9 – 12 hours per week), supervising thesis and dissertation proposals, advising students, and serving on faculty committees.
Salary and Housing
The successful candidate will be paid a minimum of 26,400,000 KRW per year. The successful candidate will also receive on campus housing or a per-semester stipend of up to KRW 3,000,000 before tax. Medical insurance and pension will be also provided.
