BRITAIN ENGLISH ACADEMY – Fulltime Native English Teacher Position – Pohang City – May 2013

Britain Language Academy is currently looking for a Native English Speaker to teach ESL to Elementary and Middle School students, starting mid-May, 2013.
Britain Language Academy is a well established private language school in Pohang City, South Korea. Since opening in 2011, Britain has gained a reputation for quality ESL education. The school is based in a modern building in the Yeonil neighborhood of Pohang City, and has excellent classrooms and facilities. Currently there is 1 native teacher (New Zealand) and 4 Korean teachers on staff at Britain.
About Pohang:
Pohang City is located on the east coast of South Korea, and is home to over 500,000 residents. POSCO and Hyundai Steel are situated in Pohang and provide the city with a strong economy. Pohang is an excellent place to live and work as it is home to many attractions. There are several beautiful beaches and mountains nearby as well as a number of Korean folk villages and Buddhist temples. During the summer, Pohang hosts an international fireworks festival, while in winter Pohang is one of the top spots in Korea to ring in the New Year. Pohang has all the amenities of a large Korean city, which makes living here a comfortable experience. These include; Homeplus, E-Mart, an excellent public transport system, Gyms, Movie Theaters, and a wide variety of Bars and Restaurants. There is also a large and diverse community of foreign teachers based in Pohang.
Job Description:
Salary: 1.9M ~ 2.2M KRW/month (depends on experience)
1 month severance pay upon completion of 12 month contract
Tax and Deductions: Income Tax / National Health Insurance / National Pension
Contract Period: 12 months (starting mid-May 2013)
Class size: 4 ~ 8 Students
Level: Elementary & Middle School (NO Kindergarten)
Hours: 2pm ~ 9:30pm, Mon ~ Fri (30 classes / week)
During Middle School exams (4 times a year) – only teach Elementary School classes (2pm ~ 6pm).
Vacation: 10 Days paid vacation (5 days summer / 5 days winter) + all Korean National Public Holidays (14 ~ 15 days / year)
Housing: FREE furnished studio apartment close to Britain Language Academy. Apartment includes bed, T.V., refrigerator, kitchen utensils, gas range, etc…
Airfare: Round-trip airline ticket to Korea provided by employer.
Qualifications:
Native English Speaker (Citizen of UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Canada)
Bachelors Degree (or higher) in any major (Education, Languages, English preferred)
ESL Teaching experience (preferred)
ESL Teaching certification (TESOL, TEFL, TESL, CELTA) preferred
E2 Visa Sponsorship: Must have the following documents to gain an E2 Visa for teaching English in Korea:
Bachelors Degree certificate (copy notarized by a Notary Public & with Apostille Certificate attached)
Nationwide Criminal Background Check from home country (with Apostille Certificate attached)
Passport (with at least 6 months validity)
