Hiring Full-time Editors - Daegu, Korea
Moon Kkang Language School is currently hiring for full-time editors in its editing department in Daegu, South Korea. Over the next year or so, we will be introducing new publications, including storybooks, writing books, and other materials, so we are looking for qualified individuals to complete our staff.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Editors will be required to write, proofread, and edit materials for EFL learners.
- Editors will be required to research and fact-check information for accuracy.
- Editors may be required to head projects and lead a team of writers.
- Editors may be asked to do voice and video recording.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants are required to have attained at least a master's degree or have a minimum of two years' experience writing or editing.
- Applicants are preferred to have a minimum of one year of EFL/ESL teaching experience.
- Successful applicants will have strong grammar and editing skills.
- Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style is helpful, but not required.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- Salary: 2.7 million won, negotiable
- Vacation: Three weeks per year
- Housing: Fully furnished, single's apartment with appliances and other amenities
- Health Insurance: Inclusion in Korea's national health service
- Severance: Equivalent to one month's salary, awarded after completion of contract
- Pension: Inclusion in Korea's national pension program
- Airfare: Round-trip tickets provided
CONTRACT INFORMATION
- Since we hire for the position year-round, the starting date is flexible.
- The working hours are from 9:30 to 6:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9:30 to 4:00 on Wednesday, with time allotted for breaks and lunch.
- The duration of the work contract is one year, and contracts may be renewed.
HIRING PROCESS

- Applicants who pass the initial screening will be requested to submit a writing sample and complete an editing test.
- Applicants who pass the second screening will then be contacted for an interview.
- Successful applicants will then be contacted and arrangements for the visa will commence.
