English Language Teachers Needed in Penang, Malaysia

PENANG, MALAYSIA: ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS
We are expanding and need new teachers to start in August/September
Enhance Education Sdn Bhd specialises in teaching English. Our main English Language Centre is located in a modern sea-side marina development on the lovely tropical island of Penang, Malaysia. Late last year we opened a second centre on the mainland, still in Penang State, and will open a third centre there in September. In all centres we provide high-quality English language courses in spacious, well-equipped classrooms using interactive student-centred teaching methods. Our courses cover all ages and levels from age 4 years to adults, but there is especially strong demand from pre-school and primary students.
We seek teachers who meet all these essential criteria:
1. Recent experience in teaching English to children aged 4 to 12 years;
2. Native English speaker with a university degree in any subject;
3. Cambridge CELTA or Trinity London CertTESOL or direct equivalent.
We need teachers who can relate well to young children and who have an active and lively teaching style. We use a range of well-known coursebooks but teachers can draw on our data-bank for supplementary materials and have considerable freedom in planning lessons. Most of our students are part-time and study with us for 2 - 4 hours per week. This means that teaching schedules have to fit around school and work times with many classes being held at weekends and some weekday evenings. Nonetheless we do guarantee all teachers two consecutive rest days each week, usually on Mondays and Tuesdays or on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We offer a professionally supportive environment and a locally competitive pay and benefits package including health insurance and pension premiums. Depending on qualifications and experience most starting salaries are from RM7k to RM8k per month. Assistance with relocation costs to Penang is available for staff recruited from outside Malaysia.
The delightful Straits Quay marina-mall on Penang Island has attractive bars, restaurants and high-end boutiques. The surrounding neighbourhoods are largely residential and offer many types of accommodation to rent on long or short leases. The second centre on the mainland is near to the sea, to local facilities and to popular residential areas. The new third centre will be slightly further inland in a modern residential area close to a major town and a regional nature reserve. Commuting to all centres is quite easy and no matter where you teach you can choose to live on either Penang Island or on the mainland.
