The Chosun University Language Education Institute (LEI) has full]time openings for native]speaking English language instructors beginning September 1, 2012
Teaching Duties: Teaching (a) university]level English skills credit courses, possibly in combination with (b) non]credit LEI English skills courses.
Qualifications: a) MA or higher a minimum of one year of teaching experience.
b) Degree in TESOL/TEFL preferred.
Documents Required for Application
a) Resume: Including name, nationality, date of birth, gender, education, current address, teaching and work experience.
b) Passport: Photocopy or scanned copy.
c) Police check: : 1. A criminal background check from your own country's government which covers the whole country's information is required.
2. Must be affixed with the relevant nation's Apostille and must be submitted during Chosun application period.
3. Nationals of countries that have not signed the apostille treaty must get verification from the local Korean consulate.
4. Immigration office will not recognize the criminal records issued by online website or E-mail notarized by consulate's office in Korea as a valid criminal records.

e) Health check: "Applicant's Health Statement" by Immigration Service(http://www.immigration.go.kr).

g) Photographs: 1 (3x4cm) required with application; 9 (3x4cm) required after interview.

Evaluation Process
a) Stage 1: Candidates applications are evaluated on the basis of (i) level of education, (ii) scholarship and research, (iii) relevance of field of study to job, (iv) teaching experience.
b) Stage 2: Interview for selected Stage]1 candidates. On]campus interview for in Korea candidates; 5]min. introductory video and/or telephone interview for candidates outside Korea.
Additional Information
a) The position is a non]tenure track position with expected appointment date of Sep. 1, 2012. Salary varies with number of hours taught. For example, a schedule of 23 hr/wk provides a monthly salary of over 3,500,000 KRW (incl. 400,000 KWR housing allowance) in addition to two yearly bonuses of about 1,000,000 KRW each.
b) The contactual term is for one year. This is renewable by mutual agreement at the end of the contractual term.
