Woosong Educational Foundation is seeking experienced, qualified candidates to fill several positions as EFL teachers. The Woosong Educational Foundation includes Woosong University, Woosong Information College and Woosong Language Institute, and Solbridge International Business School.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Native English speaker from Australia, Canada, Ireland, N.Z, South Africa, U.K, or the USA
- Master's degree in either Education, English, or Linguistics and 3 years of verifiable teaching experience (accrued outside of time spent pursuing degree)
or
- PhD in either Education, English, or Linguistics and 2 years of verifiable teaching experience (accrued outside of time spent pursuing degrees)or
or
- Master's degree in any subject, Bachelors in Education, English, or Linguistics and 5 years of verifiable teaching experience (accrued outside of time spent pursuing degrees) Bachelor's degree
- English/Korean bilingual teachers are encouraged to apply.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Non-tenure Track General English Language Professor (GEL)
- Teach a variety of credit and noncredit English as a Foreign Language classes
- Maximum teaching 20 hours per week plus 4 office hours.
STARTING SALARY
-2,600,000 to 2,900,000 Won per month depending on experience.
BENEFITS
- Relocation allowance of W40,000 per diem for up to seven days (payable with
first pay check)
- Air fare allowance (an additional W300,000 with your first pay check and W700,000 upon contract completion) for first year teachers
- One month's additional salary is paid as a bonus upon the completion of a second year's contract and every year contract thereafter
- Housing: Rent-free partially furnished apartment close to the campus (single or family accommodation is available) or a housing stipend of 300,000 Won per month.
- Vacation - 6 weeks (to be taken during the Summer and Winter sessions)

CONTRACT PERIOD
- One year contract starting around September 1st, depending on the availability of the teacher. (Renewable with satisfactory performance)
GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAM OFFERINGS
Woosong offers staff discounts for study in the Masters of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Multimedia-Assisted Language Learning (M.A. TESOL-MALL) Graduate Degree program at Woosong University (http://tesolmall.wsu.ac.kr/) and the Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at our international business school, Solbridge (http://www.solbridge.ac.kr/). Both courses are taught solely in English.

* Woosong University and Korean Immigration require an apostilled federal criminal background check, and apostilled copy of diploma, and health report. Note that in some countries a federal background check can take up to twelve weeks. If this is your first visa, you must do an interview at an embassy in your home country. Visa transfers require a letter of release must be obtained from one's current Korean employer. Failure to provide the relevant paperwork in a timely manner may be grounds to cease the application process.

In country candidates may be asked to demonstrate a sample lesson in front of a hiring committee on a Saturday to be announced later.
