The package is highly competitive and includes:
-One-year contract (minimum).
-A monthly salary of 2.2 to 2.5 million won based on qualifications and/or teaching experience. An Education Degree or TESOL/TEFL/CELTA Certification or Teacher Certification is required.
-Individual housing provided by the school (teachers are responsible for utilities and maintenance fees). Optional ₩550,000 monthly housing allowance available for those who prefer to arrange their own accommodations. (NOTE: Housing deposits in Korea are generally 10 million won or more; the school will not provide a deposit.)
-Round trip airfare (return ticket provided upon completion of final contract period).
-Contract completion bonus equal to one month’s salary (less taxes, National Pension Plan, etc.).
-Paid vacation days - approximately 4 weeks in summer and 4 weeks in winter.
-Paid national holidays.
-Paid sick or compassion days, up to 5 days per contract year.
-National Medical Insurance Plan, 50% contributed by the school.
-Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:20am-4:30pm
School hours: 8:50am-3:30pm; teachers have approximately 26 forty-minute classes/week
-Responsibilities include:
written weekly lesson plans, special open class plans, student assessments and report cards, curriculum evaluation and development, one-week day camp program.
-Participation in all school meetings and events (up to three events may fall on Saturdays).
-Participation in field trips, one or two of which may be overnight for upper elementary grades.
-Subjects include: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, P.E., and others.
