1 Non-tenure track Faculty Position to start: September 2, 2013

Hannam University is a private Christian school located in Daejeon, South Korea with about 15,000 students. Hannam¡¯s 8 year-old Linton Global College (LGC) is the first home-grown college in Korea to be administered by a predominately international faculty & staff. Students at LGC are immersed in English-only classes and live during the week in an English-only dormitory. The administration recognizes that the success of our program is dependent upon the quality of our faculty and staff. Responsibilities:
Teach a minimum of 9 hours a week. Additional hours are paid at overtime rates.
Research and publishing of academic papers is recommended and financially supported.
Contribute to curriculum development.
Participate in periodic faculty & staff meetings.
Offer standard office hours.
Conduct bi-annual student interviewing & advising.
Willingness to serve in an administrative capacity.
Perform other duties required of the position.

Required Qualifications:
Fluency in English
Korean or International Citizenship are eligible, however, applicants with International Citizenship are preferred.
Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Photojournalism, Advertising or related major are preferred. M.A. or M.S. holders are also encouraged to apply.
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at the university level or relevant field experience.

Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching
Demonstrated excellence in scholarly activity
Experience collaborating with university faculty
A history of active involvement in state, regional, and national professional organizations
Experience in integrating technology into teaching and learning
Experience with diverse populations in school settings
Experience in Asia
An understanding of Korean culture
Enthusiasm for our mission, vision, and core values
The ability to facilitate collaborative problem solving
The willingness to inspire responsible risk taking
Knowledge about assessment systems that improve teaching and learning
Strong human relations and communication skills
A willingness to grow and nurture the growth of a new school

Salary Range, Benefits, and Application Procedures:
This is a non-tenure track appointment.
Salary is calculated according to the degree level, university teaching experience, and relevant work experience. The salary range for this position is approximately 24,000,000 to 51,000,000 won per year.
50% of monthly health insurance premiums paid by the university.
50% of monthly pension contribution paid jointly by the government & university.
Modern university faculty housing is included.
