Armed Forces Nursing Academy (Daejeon) Seeks Full-Time English Instructor Application Deadline: October 31st (Thurs), 2013

The Armed Forces Nursing Academy is a four-year university-level military academy that trains Korean nursing officer candidates. It is located in Daejeon, South Korea. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate full-time English instructor.
Contract Period: March 1, 2014 ~ Feb 28, 2015 (Renewable)
Position : Full-time English instructor, Department of Liberal Arts.
Personal office provided.
Qualifications: English Native Speaker with a 4 year university degree (B.A, B.S. or higher).
TESOL/TEFL Certificate
University level teaching experience preferred.
Candidates must be able to attend interview in person in November 2013.
TEPS (or similar) test preparation experience helpful.
Salary: 2.1 million won per month (before deductions)
Working Hours: Mon to Fri, 8:00~16:00.
Teaching Hours:16 hours per week (freshmen and sophomore conversation class)
Other duties: Participate in Winter Intensive Program (4 weeks in Jan '15), occasionally assist staff by proof reading academic papers.
Vacation: 35 days of paid vacation
Housing: Military dormitory in Bachelor Officers' Quarters provided. (Furnished, own bathroom, shared kitchen and laundry. 15min by commuting bus, 5min by car).

Note from current teacher:
The classes consist of 20 first or second year students, seated in groups. Each class has 1x2 hour session per week, for the whole academic year. The teacher has a tablet PC lectern with projector. The main course objective is to improve communication ability and confidence, but it currently has a requirement that the students be examined and scored as well. The ideal teacher will be able to support and inspire cooperative, but sometimes overworked, cadets, and strike a balance between providing engaging communicative activities and testable material. Course syllabus is still in development, so the teacher will have considerable freedom to choose textbooks and design course materials. The students spend equal time with a non-native speaker teacher, who focuses on grammar, listening and reading.
