Job Announcement: Faculty Position at Hannam University, Daejeon, South Korea

Assistant Professor in Practical English
College of General Education
Hannam University
Responsibilities: The College of General Education at Hannam University is seeking dynamic individuals for a non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment as an Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to teach courses in the HNU Practical English Program and other courses based on the candidate¡¯s background and expertise. Selected candidates are expected to serve in a professional and administrative capacity based on the needs of the college. The position also requires 6 hours of office hours per week and participation in periodic faculty meetings. Advising and mentoring of undergraduate students is also expected. Finally, the position requires tutoring a minimum of four hours per week at the university writing center.
Qualifications: Candidate must have a M.A. degree and at least 2 years teaching and research experiences (or a B.A. degree and at least 4 years teaching and research experiences) by the date of appointment. Candidate must possess disciplinary depth in a field relevant to Practical English. The candidate must have strong communication skills and classroom teaching experience.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with background and experiences.
Master¡¯s degree holders: Starting salaries from 30,000,000 won per year.
