The HYU TESOL (Hanyang TESOL), a leading graduate TESOL program in Korea, invites applications for TWO one-year full-time faculty positions, beginning in March 2013. The program is currently registered by International Language Institute of Hanyang University.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have an earned doctor's or master's degree from an accredited university in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, and TESOL related area, a minimum of two years successful ESL/EFL teaching experiences, preferably at the college level. The preferred candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview process, which also includes a teaching demonstration.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach Masters level courses in her/his area of specialization for a total of 12 hours (up to 15) per week in Second Language Acquisition, Teaching English Grammar, Teaching Pronunciation, Teaching Listening and Speaking, Teaching Reading and Writing, Teaching Young Learners, and Computer-Assisted Language Learning. Additional office hours and weekly faculty meetings are also expected.
Additional responsibilities include counseling students; providing service to the International Language Institute of Hanyang University; and other assignments as designated by the Director. One of the successful candidates will be designated as Academic Coordinator to continue supervising the program and other faculty members, design the curriculum and develop new courses in the field, perform institutional service, and work internationally with overseas collaborative universities.
Salary range:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Additional Salary information: Benefits provided include furnished housing (or KRW 300,000 of monthly housing allowance); and KRW 200,000 of monthly allowance for Academic Coordinator.
