Honors English Academy (http://www.ehonors.net/) is a private English academy located in Daegu, Korea. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daegu ) We are NOT a franchise, but an independent academy with 2 branches with about 25 Korean teachers and 5 native/foreign teachers including myself. We have two open positions for a native teacher to start in January and February to be part of our team. I am NOT a recruiter, so this is a DIRECT offer from the academy. You will talk to our head foreign teacher who currently teaches in this academy, so all your specific questions will be answered during your phone/Skype interview. We teach elementary and middle school students and currently have about 700 students in our 2nd branch (which you will be working in.) Although it is not a franchise and is not owned by a corporation, Honors Academy has just celebrated its 10th anniversary last May, ensuring the stability and professionalism of our establishment.
We offer one-year renewable contract with the following details:

Location: Daegu (Sang-in dong)
Start Date: 16 January 2013 OR 27 February 2013
School Type: Private Academy (Hagwon)
Age group: Elementary / Middle
Salary: 2.0 – 2.2 million Won/month depending on your qualifications
Teaching Hours: Mon – Fri: 3pm – 10pm (maximum of 30 classes per week, 45min per class)
Class size: Maximum of 12 students.
Total number of native teachers: 5
Housing: Furnished single studio 5min walk from academy (no roommate, an air-conditioner is provided)
Bonus: Severance pay of one month’s pay upon completion of one-year contract
Benefit: National Health Insurance (50% paid by employer) and National Pension Program
Airfare: Round trip provided
Paid Vacation: 10 days + national holidays, 3 sick days allowed
* Qualifications
- Native English speaker
- Hold a valid citizenship/passport from (USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa)
- Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university from one of the above countries
- Have a clean national criminal record with Apostille or certification from Korean Consulate (depending on country)
- A teacher who is already in Korea is a plus! (airfare reimbursement/salary raise will be given)

1 FBI criminal background check with Apostille (issued within 6months)
(for Candadians- notarized by the Korean consulate)
1 copy of your passport

2 passport photo
1 health statement signed by you (to be provided)
2 copies of the contract signed by you
Please note that you should be a native English speaker with a BA or BS degree from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or South Africa in order to be eligible to obtain an E2 visa.

There are two available part time positions for the month of March available at a “You and I English Academy” in Daegu. Valid E2 visa required. It would be a fill-in position for the current foreign teachers who are leaving Korea for one month between contracts. The details are as follows:
Hours: 1pm to 9pm. Classes start at 2:30, allowing for one hour of prep time and a 50 minute break for dinner/additional prep time, etc.
Classes: Monday to Friday, 4 to 5 classes, 50 minutes each. Elementary and Middle school level students. It is a speaking oriented school. The Korean co-teacher will cover grammar. Foreign teachers will teach phonics, reading, and speaking. Also some comprehension oriented reading for middle school students.
Job details: The “You and I” franchise provides an easy to follow curriculum. Training will be provided. Class sizes are small, with an average of 6-10 students in each class. Pay will be 2.1 million won, with income tax deducted (as this is only a fill-in position, pension and health-care coverage will not be deducted). Housing will be provided. A furnished, 2 bedroom (shared) apartment, one room for each teacher, with a large bathroom, kitchen, and laundry on site. Apartment fee will be covered. Utilities NOT included: electricity, internet, cable, and gas.
