ABOUT US
Established in 1997, the Gyeonggi-do Institute for Foreign Language Education (GIFLE) is the largest government supported teacher-training and professional development institute of its kind in South Korea. Responsible for training and developing in-service public school teachers of English as a second / foreign language.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a dedicated and highly-skilled native English-speaking instructor to join our team of foreign instructors to instruct teacher-training and professional development courses for in service Korean English teachers.
(Note: Each of GIFLE's five training programs run for one month consecutively throughout the year with some break periods in between. Current core modules include Microteaching, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.)
In addition to instructing at the institute, participation in an off-campus local public school visit is required.

Contract
1 year (12 months) ??renewal of contract upon mutual agreement
Remuneration:
Salary: Starting at 2.7M~3.0M in Korean won per month, depending upon qualifications / experience.
Housing:Fully furnished modern on-campus apartment provided. A two-bedroom apartment is also available for married couples with/ without children. *No pets allowed.
Settlement Allowance:300,000 won (one-time payment upon arrival to the campus housing)
Paid Vacation:35 business days during off-session periods
Severance pay:to one month?�s salary given at the completion of a 12-month contract
Airfare:Fully reimbursed within a month of arrival
Benefits:such as medical and national pension contribution.
Tax exemption applies with conditions
Working Conditions
Office hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. ??5 p.m including lunch break (12 noon -1pm)
Instruction hours per week: 21 hours maximum, including consultation hours with trainees.
Requirements
1. A relevant* Master's degree with a related teaching certificate(s) (e.g. TESOL) and a minimum of 2 years of full-time English teaching experience.
OR
A relevant* Bachelor's degree with a related teaching certificate(s) and a minimum of 3 years of full-time English teaching experience.
* Teaching experience in Korea preferred
2. Paperwork necessary for E-2 visa or other valid working statuses in Korea (F-2, F-4 or F-5)
* Relevant Degree; Education, Applied Linguistics, English Literature, TESOL etc.
* Other alternative combination of relevant qualifications and experience may also be considered if deemed competitive and suitable.
