Children and Adults Teacher required for Korea University’s Non-Credit Programs - Seoul, Korea

Korea University in Seoul, South Korea seeks qualified, dynamic, motivated teachers to become full-time children and adults instructors in its non-credit department at the Institute of Foreign Language Studies.
The university, which was founded in 1905, is one of South Korea’s most prestigious universities and it is focused on its ethos of “Proactive KU”, seeking an ever more prominent role in international education.
AVAILABLE POSITION: Enrichment Program English Instructor. This position requires teaching both young learners and university students. Please do NOT apply if you are interested in a lecturer position.
OVERVIEW: Due to the ever changing and increasing demands of English education, KU is looking for English instructors who have a minimum of two years teaching experience in Korea and who wish to provide the highest quality EFL teaching possible to students of all ages, levels and abilities. Adults’ experience is also highly valued.
Candidates should be positive, charismatic, and forward-thinking; they should be prepared to contribute positively towards building and improving the program through resource development, feedback, and the sharing of ideas.
New teachers will become part of a professional team that is proud to work at one of the best institutions in Korea. The current teachers will make new instructors’ career transitions comfortable and their teaching experience gratifying. The KU IFLS Enrichment Program allows instructors to enjoy a university environment and teach both children and adults of various linguistic levels, each presenting constant challenges and rewards.
CHILDREN'S ENGLISH PROGRAM:
The core component of the KU Children’s Enrichment Program is a six-level communicative language course built around the popular textbooks Let’s Go and Backpack. This is supplemented by a variety of specialist classes, which target phonics, reading, middle school, and international learners. Instructors may be required to teach all such classes during the period of their contract, meaning applicants should be versatile and adroitly capable in material development, syllabus design, and course implementation.
Each component of the program has a detailed syllabus for instructors to follow. Monthly grade requirements provide clear guidelines for the work that instructors are expected to oversee. However, within these parameters instructors have a high degree of freedom with regard to the methodology employed. Instructors are responsible for creating their own monthly outlines and submitting written evaluations. Performance is monitored by the Program Administrator in the main Korean office, assisted by the Program Coordinator, a fellow teacher within the program.
