Professor Position in Economics Department, Yeungnam University in Gyeongsan


Yeungnam University's Economics and Finance department is looking for a native English professor
to teach courses on current economic issues. Located on 900 scenic acres in Gyeongsan, just minutes from Daegu,
Yeungnam University is a Ph.D.-granting private university with a student enrollment of over 25,000.
1. Job Title: Assistant Education Professor / Associate Education Professor
2. Period of Contract (Renewable)
March 1, 2013 – February 28, 2014
3. Teaching Subjects
Current Economic Issues 1, Current Economic Issues 2
(May also be asked to teach Introductory Microeconomics or Introductory
Macroeconomics)
4. Teaching Load
9 hours per week
5. Other Expected Duties
Involvement in departmental events (annual English presentation contest,
Finance camp, etc)
Mentoring/coaching service for members of a departmental English speech
club who participate in regional/national English presentation
competitions
Irregular non-credit English conversation programs for overtime
6. Education and Experience Requirements
1) Master's degree in Economics, or Business Communication required
2) ESL/EFL teaching background and certification preferred
3) University teaching experience in Microeconomics/Macroeconomics a plus
4) Corporate work experience in the financial sector also a plus
7. Salary and Benefits
Assistant Education Professor: 3,226,763 won and up per month
Associate Education Professor: 3,670,000 won and up per month depending on
experience
• Overtime pay: 25,000 won per hour or more
• National Health Insurance: 50/50
• Contributions to the Korean Teachers Pension
• A university-owned apartment with basic furnishings is provided when
available. If there are no vacancies, a housing allowance of 450,000 won per
month is provided.
