Two teachers needed in the United Arab Emirates


English World, an Australian-owned and managed language school and Cambridge ESOL CELTA centre in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, is looking for two capable and enthusiastic English teachers for our classes of adults, young adults and children, starting early December.
Essential requirements:
• Cambridge ESOL CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL
• a genuine interest in learners and enjoyment of language teaching
• EU, North American or Australasian passport (for visa)
• native-speaker level of English

Appreciated:
• some English language teaching experience

We offer:
• a friendly, supportive working environment
• a range of different levels and types of classes, including General English to adults and younger learners, IELTS exam preparation courses and 1 – 1 classes
• the opportunity to experience living in a dynamic and cosmopolitan country with excellent connections to nearby travel destinations, e.g. India, Sri Lanka, Oman and other Arab and Gulf countries.

Teaching timetable:
• 18.5 teaching hours a week (80 hours per calendar month)
• optional additional teaching hours paid at the applicable hourly rate
• attendance at monthly professional development sessions / staff meetings
• five or six day working week; Friday is the weekend
• some off-site classes

Salary and benefits:
• two year contract, renewable by mutual agreement
• UAE work permit, residence visa and state health cover provided
• four weeks paid holiday per year, plus public holidays
• tax-free basic monthly salary of AED 6,000 (US$1,650 / UK£1,000 approx)
• accommodation allowance of AED 24,000 per year
• travel allowance of AED 2,500 per year
• one-off settling-in allowance of AED 1,000

Ras Al Khaimah is a small but developing coastal city 90 kms north of Dubai, with a pleasantly relaxed lifestyle and an active expat community. Outdoor activities include swimming, sailing and kayaking, camping and walking in the mountains, golf, tennis and horse-riding. The attractions of Dubai are also easily accessible.
