Yonsei University at Wonju-Kangwondo-Non tenure English Language Professor


 Here is the hiring process and a brief job description for the International Education Center, Wonju Campus:

2.Period of Contract
March 1st, 2012 – February 28th, 2013
3.Teaching Load
18 hours per week
4.Salary
Base salary is 3,500,000 won per month
5.Qualifications:
Only candidate with the following qualification will be considered:
• Master's degree or higher in TEFL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English or any other related field with at least one year of university-level teaching experience or at least two years of ESL experience.
• Master's degree in any discipline with at least one year of university-level teaching experience and at least two years of ESL experience and a TEFL/TESOL certificate.

6. Job Description:
Professors are required to teach university credit classes 18 hours per week. Professors may be required to teach up to 2 hours per week of overtime. (Additional hours beyond the contractual 18 hours per week are compensated at the overtime rate of 30,000 won.). There are 4 semesters, the spring and fall semester being 16 weeks long each followed by a 4 week short semester in summer and winter.
7. Starting Date and Orientation Session:
The starting date for this position will be March 1st, 2013. Please be aware that a two-day mandatory teacher training/orientation session will be held during the final week of February.
8. Housing:
University –owned , rent-free, furnished, one- bed room apartment off campus.
9. Vacations:
A total of 12 weeks paid vacation in addition to any Korean national holidays that fall during the academic calendar.
10. Additional Benefits:
Professors will be eligible for:
(a) A reimbursement for 50% of a round-trip ticket or 100% of a one-way ticket from a country outside of Asia (in KRW) at the conclusion of their one-year contract
(b) A reimbursement of up to 500,000 KRW (within S.E. Asia) for one (1) round-trip airfare (i.e. a visa run) at the conclusion of their one-year
contract

(c) A reimbursement for transfer fee for teachers able to transfer their visa
